Background
Masterpiece Homes was founded in 2001 by Rick Savino and Reese Smith, both Tidewater natives with family roots in real estate and land development. Their collective experience of over 30 years melds Reese’s hands-on knowledge of finance, building and design with the best of Rick’s real estate, development and
marketing background. Their experience includes work with national companies and prestigious custom builders.
Philosophy
With a mantra of “never leave a job site unfinished,” we believe in clean, well organized work areas, clear directives and getting it right the first time.
The custom home world is exploding with new products and better ways of building. At Masterpiece Homes, we make it our business to stay on top of advances in the industry in order to bring the best possible product to our customers and communities, letting our imaginations guide the design process.
The Process
First we listen—to your needs, your aspirations, and your desires. With an eye toward innovation in designs and materials, we will suggest ways to improve and expand on your ideas. We hire the architects, designers, engineers and the master craftsmen. We manage financing, bids, contracts, schedules and more. We do as much (or as little) as you want ensuring a smooth, stress-free experience from start to finish. We will be forthright in communicating about the project. From schedules and payments to challenges that arise during construction, you can rely on Masterpiece to provide outstanding customer service—keeping you informed and resolving issues fairly. |
